For Remote Tracking, songwriter must provide the following to ensure I can "lock in" with your track:
Guide Track/Rough Mix: A simple recording file, preferably a wave file, even from a smartphone, with piano or guitar and scratch vocals to hear the song in context. File should be in 44 or 48kHz ideally.
Tempo Information: Clearly stated BPM and a mention of whether a click track was used. Please include click file if you have it.
Stems for Dense Mixes: If the project is complex, individual stems of vocals, bass, and guitars in desired sample rate. This will help me hear the nuances of your arrangement.
MIDI/AI Demo Drums: If you have a basic drum idea from MIDI or AI, this can provide a sense of the desired groove and fill placement. Please indicate if you want me to play the song exactly as dictated or prefer me to improvise based on my experience.
Audio Format: While high-res isn't strictly necessary for initial drafting, you should ideally send WAV, AIFF, or MP3 files at your project's native sample/bit rate
Finished Song Structure: Please ensure the song is fully written before tracking to avoid expensive and time-consuming rewrites during your session.
Conversation: The first step after requesting a session is we talk. We'll make sure your submission is ready to go and we can get started tracking. I believe the conversation is the most important part of the deal. I can get a feel for what you are hearing and where you want to take the song. You can also recommend a couple songs that you feel represent the sound you want for your song. I'll listen and get a better feel for your vision. This is all about YOUR song. Lets make sure we get it exactly how you want it.
